Aloha ka kou! My name is Kristen and I’m a blogger, spiritual director, Hawaiian cultural practitioner, and Realtor in Santa Barbara, California. Weird combo? Yep. I promise if you stick around a bit, you’ll see that it’s not as weird as it sounds. We are whole people and everything about us matters.

I am cherished by the people who matter most to me and dearly beloved and fully accepted by God. The person I was, the person I am, and the person I am constantly becoming—all of her—she is loved and accepted. You are too.

I strive to love anyone God places in my path. As you’ll see if you read any of my blog posts, loving people is seriously hard work for me, but it’s getting easier as the years pass.

I find joy in assigning words to the life happening around me. I believe the ordinary parts of our lives deserve to be recorded as much as the extraordinary. I wish my grandmothers, their grandmothers, and all of my ancestors believed their lives were worthy of recording. Though they have passed, their lives influence, inspire, and wrangle me, even now. I’m breaking the silence here and striving to be a good ancestor now.

I’ve been married for twenty-one years and I am a mom to three incredible young men and two dogs. (As of this writing, I have a new puppy and I need you to remind me it’s going to be okay.)
